On July 13, 2025, the Dragon Bravo Fire swept through the North Rim of the Grand Canyon, destroying the historic Grand Canyon Lodge and surrounding facilities. But the loss goes far beyond buildings—it’s a direct blow to the people who live and work in this treasured place.
With the North Rim now closed for the rest of the 2025 season, many park employees, guides, and seasonal staff have lost their jobs, income, and even personal belongings left behind. These are the men and women who pour their hearts into maintaining trails, guiding guests, and creating unforgettable experiences for millions of visitors.
Through the Dragon Bravo Fire Relief Fund, we’re raising emergency financial assistance for those most impacted—helping displaced workers, replacing lost essentials, and offering real relief as they navigate the road ahead.

Brighty’s legacy isn’t just about a beloved burro—it’s about grit, loyalty, and perseverance through the toughest terrain. He’s a reminder of what it means to press on when the path ahead looks uncertain.
As the Dragon Bravo Fire tears through our beloved North Rim—taking with it the historic Grand Canyon Lodge and forcing closure for the remainder of the 2025 season—many in our canyon family are left without jobs, income, and in some cases, even personal belongings. Guides, employees, and local workers who have faithfully served visitors year after year are now facing real hardship.
But like Brighty, we don’t give up.
